Mauro Corbani, Soncino (Cremona) 16.03.1952. He approached the world of painting and sculpture by attending the studies of established artists from a very young age.
The charm of their world and their works has marked his career and his life ever since. The meetings with the artists in various parts of the world and his stays in the cities of art allowed the first personal and collective exhibitions and at the same time nourished his spirit. Very important in the evolution of his work was also the attendance with the gallery owners and, mostly, art critics.
Travel, intended as continuous research and as a desire and need for "contamination" with the most varied cultures, from west to east, it is the essential nourishment that allows his work to be born, live and express yourself.
Recent works are made during and after his travels to distant lands: the highlands of Cappadocia in Turkey, the oases and deserts of Morocco and Tunisia, the golden lands of Rajasthan in India, the warm coasts of Senegal and the mythical region of Bandiagara in Mali in contact with the Dogon people, the lush regions of northern Thailand among the still primitive villages, the expanses of rice fields in Vietnam, lands of great religious devotion like Bali and Sri Lanka, the ancient treasures of Yucatan and the people of Cuba with their Caribbean colors. Travel inside the lands and the sands, the waters and the waves, the heavens and winds, flavors and smells, the voices and music that can be seen in his works. Works that are openings, messages, for those who want to know and touch the souls of the world beyond the walls and trenches. In these 40 years the research continues with intense creativity, exhibition activity, workshops and performances in Italy and worldwide.
